On the evening of Wednesday, July 17, 2024 , from 18:00 to 19:30, Online Content Research and Development Section (OCRD) and Academy for Super Smart Society (SSS) teams held a joint welcoming party for new TAs.
The party was being held to welcome new OCRD and SSS TAs and allow TAs to exchange information with students and faculty related to online course production in OCRD and SSS.
The party started with speeches from Prof. Jeffrey S. Cross (general manager of OCRD) and Prof. Nishihara Akinori (Chief Operating Officer of SSS).
Prof. Cross was very delighted to welcome the new TAs, mentioning that the last welcoming party was held 4 years ago.
Prof. Nishihara noted that the SSS team has also started to produce online content similar to that of the OCRD, and hoped that the cooperation with the OCRD will benefit both teams.
There were lots of food and drink prepared, including sushi, pizza and many snacks. Even halal food was prepared for some of the Muslim TAs. After the toast, We did a quiz on interesting facts about Tokyo Tech and its merge with TMDU into Institute of Science Tokyo. In the background, some music chosen by the new TAs were played to brighten up the mood throughout the party.
The party concluded with a speech by Prof. Yamashita Yukihiko (OCRD).
Everyone had a great time getting to know each other between the new TAs and also the OCRD/SSS staff members. With this newly found connection, we hope to work together to continue developing and improving Tokyo Tech's online education.
